I watched that race today. This may surprise some of you guys, but this is the first time that I've seen somebody killed in a crash on the track. It's just something that I never really expected to see, what with all the advancements in safety both on the track and in the cars. I've read stories about tragedies on the track that had happened in the past, but I never imagined that I would actually watch one unfold. Those improvements in safety have really desensitized me when it comes to big crashes, especially on tracks like Daytona and Talladega, and it's something that can be very easy to take for granted, but no matter how safe the car or the track is, there is always a chance that something like this will happen. Last May, I watched him win the Indianapolis 500 in a very exciting finish. Today, in that big crash in the last race of the 2011 IndyCar series season, we've lost Dan Wheldon. R.I.P.
