Still playing Legend of the Dragoon, just about to start disc 3! Yeah, I got really increasingly pissed off during disc 2 though but not for story purposes or Shana getting more dialogue lines and Lavitz....no, it was because the PS2 apparently doesn't play PS1 RPGs as well as an actual PS1 does. It kept freezing at black out scenes, like 4 times on this disc! I got really pissed off when it did it after a freakin' boss fight! Then I looked online and discovered that this is actually a fairly well known glitch when the game is played on the PS2. So yeah, had to drag out the PS1 and set that up, which I usually don't because of the box with the plug, it's just too big. Had to kinda attach a small extension cord to the power strip....I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not....luckily it uses the same TV cord that the PS2 does which was conveniently already plugged in. And what do y'know? That fixed the whole problem, no freezing after the boss this time! I'm just going to leave my PS1 plugged in for the time being.

I'm still enjoying the game, but like, every time I look at the graphics I keep thinking "jeez, this game looks like ass", I love PS1 games! They all look like crap (by today's standards anyway) except during CGI cutscenes and I think they're just so charming for that!

Epic Mickey is a pretty charming game. I'm surprised at how touching the story can be.

@classicalzawa: Have you tried messing with the ps2 playstaion 1 driver? It has a few options that may make a difference. You can also try an emulator since they play ps1 discs and have options to enhance the graphics to dreamcast quality.

^Based on the PS1 games that I've played, I like to think that the graphics have that charm to them that the systems of today don't have. I mean, yeah, they probably do look like crap compared to what we have today, but it has that coolness and charm that no other future system can hope to have. This is coming from a guy that chose the Nintendo 64 in that particular generation.

Oh no I agree. The blocky graphics are nostalgic. On lcd tvs they can be a little too blurry and distorted and it gets a tad annoying not being able to make out the details you normally could see.

Good thing I've still got a good ol' tube TV! The other night my one friend was going "why don't you use an S-video cable? It'll improve the picture" and I told him "uh, this is a PS1 game, is that really necessary?", he just likes his fun cords and stuff.

Also, I'm not gonna mess with the PS1 driver on the PS2, that seems like a massive waste of time that could ruin my PS2 cus I'll admit that I dunno wtf I'm doing. Besides, the PS1 is all hooked up anyway.

And yeah, the crappy graphics are so adorable to me!

After 9 long years of playing, I have finally found all 120 Power Stars in Super Mario 64! :D Of course, I needed a little bit of help from the internet and playing Super Mario 64 DS helped a little as well, but I managed to get it done.

On an unrelated note, for a little while now, I had been thinking about writing video game reviews for the Alley. And with the 3rd anniversary of this message board not too far away, I think that maybe I could celebrate it by starting to post a game review once every month. I already have a game in mind to start it off with that I'm playing right now.

End of Disc 3 of Legend of Dragoon! Oh man, it's so troperiffic, I can see why it still has a pretty good fanbase even today (also I like the combat and since I found that MP restoring ring, I can break stuff like there's no tomorrow!) And I actually used Miranda in a battle for once, how rare! Her healing spell plus the fact that I never used her meant she only had 1 Dragoon level, perfect for said battle!

Still trying to figure out why this particular disc had more CGI cutscenes then all the other discs combined so far, lol. But oh man! It ended with so damn many cliches that it was quite fun and epic! Lol

A few days ago I finally finished playing Human revolution. Wish it had statistics, I'm certain I sunk about 30-40 hours into into it.

Have red faction Armageddon arriving soon (was only £10 so I decided to try it even if it has less destruction)

I'm reliving my college days by playing Halo 2. The only thing that would make this even better would be if I had three other people that were willing to play some Slayer or some King of the Hill. I also wish I could play multiplayer with 15 CPU-controlled players, but I guess I'll have to settle for playing Campaign mode on all 4 difficulties.

I'm about halfway through Halo 2 on Normal difficulty. The game really upped the ante with the jump from Easy to Normal. I have a feeling that I will have a very hard time on the Heroic difficulty.

Madworld is AMAZING. It's hilarious, full of over the top violence, and has an awesome hip hop soundtrack. Never felt so manly while playing a video game.

I've returned to a browser based game I played ages ago (2005-2008) :sweat

Hattrick- a football management game. Was watching some highlights at about 11, felt nostalgic and ended up signing up.

Outside of that I've tried to re-continue my second playthrough of ME2, but it just isn't the same. Which is a shame, as the current character has a far better ME1 story behind them :?
